SUMMARY:Clairvoyance 2018-19
DESCRIPTION:On 23rd\, 24th& 225th January 2019\, the Cultural Association of MVM Degree College organized Inter-Collegiate Festival “Clairvoyance”. This grand extravaganza acknowledged the participation of more than 500 participants from various colleges across the city. All together 26 events were organized in three days in the field of Performing Arts\, Fine Art\, Literary Art\, and Sports. \nThe Inaugural Ceremony of Inter-Collegiate festival Clairvoyance was graced by Mr. Vikas Gupta. Mr. Vikas Gupta is an Indian television show producer\, creative director\, and host. The Managing Committee members who graced the occasion were: \n\nMr. Vikas Puthran\, Chairman\, Education Committee\, MV Mandali\nMr. Prashant Thingalaya\, Chairman\, Infrastructure Committee\, MV Mandali\nMr. G K Ramesh\, Trustee\, MV Mandali\nMr. Laxman Shiryan\, Jt. Secretary\, MV Mandali\n\n\n		\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nThe Inaugural ceremony was followed by sports\, and other events like Event Photography\, Nail Art\, Rangoli\, Quiz\, Chess\, Face painting\, PUBG\, JAM\, and Body Posing. The event was memorable with the presence of eminent judges. Simultaneously competitions in Literary Arts events like creative writing\, Debate\, Fine Arts events like Mehndi\, Performing Arts Events like Singing\, War of DJ were conducted. Singers like Kamal Shrivastav and Asha Nair – Bollywood playback singers were invited as judges for the event. \nThe third day of the festival had the competitions such as Solo Dance\, Group Dance\, Mr. And Ms. Clairvoyance and Dance Battle. The day became more energetic and enthusiastic with the presence of talented dancers like Ms. Harsha Chavan& Mr. Ayshaan Siddiqui-a Bollywood choreographer who rocked the show.Ms. Natasha Shaikh\, Contestant of MTV show Ace of space graced the occasion as a Judge for Mr. & Ms. Clairvoyance. \n\n		\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nPrize Distribution Ceremony was held at the end of the third day. The certificates and trophies were handed over to the winners during Prize Distribution. WaliaCollege won the Rolling Trophy of Clairvoyance for Best College by scoring maximum points.

SUMMARY:Kerala Flood Relief Rally
DESCRIPTION:On humanitarian grounds and concern for social causes\, 62 DLLE Students of M V Mandali’s Colleges of Commerce & Science\, enthusiastically participated in a unique rally to gather funds for flood-hit Kerala on 1st September 2018. Principal Dr. Gopal Kalkoti’s enthusiasm and concern for humanity motivated other teaching faculty members viz. Mr. Divyesh Nagrecha\, Ms. Navsin Mistry\, and Mr. Darshan Pagar to be a part of the rally as well. \nThe students walked around 3 KM around the Andheri Suburban area and encouraged bystanders and residents in the area from Andheri to Versova to donate monetary resources aimed toward rebuilding Kerala. Local Residents also showcased their support by donating money and other essential resources to the relief camp. \nThe initiative was conducted in partnership with Clara’s College\, Andheri who also joined in the rally to support the cause. Around 2000 students from several schools and colleges in the Versova region also joined in for the noble cause and cheered in support of rebuilding Kerala.

SUMMARY:Fresher's Party & Friendship Day Celebration 2018
DESCRIPTION:Cultural Association of M V Mandali’s Colleges of Commerce & Science organized Fresher’s Party & Friendship Day on 3rd August 2018. It was conducted in the 1st-floor auditorium. Students of Degree College of all streams attended the program. \nThe students were welcomed with a friendship band at the registration counter before entering the auditorium. The program started with a welcome address by Ms Sonali Prajapati\, followed by Principal Dr Gopal Kalkoti addressing the audience. Guest who graced the occasion with their presence were\, \nMr Shrinivas Suvarna\, Vice-President of Mogaveera Vyavasthapaka Mandali \nMs Yogita Khanna\, Vice-Principal of MVM International School \nPrincipal Dr Gopal Kalkoti and by Vice-Principal Ms Seema Rawat\, welcome the guests and felicitated them with a bouquet of flowers. A contest for Mr Fresher and Ms Fresher was conducted. Ms Archana Khemka hosted the contest\, whereas Ms Yogita Khanna was a judge for the contest. First-year students from all streams enthusiastically participated in the contest. Mr Fresher 2018-19 was awarded to Mr Siddhant Khurana (FYBAF) and Ms Fresher 2018-19 was awarded to Miss Chelsea Gomes (FYBMS). This was celebrated by cutting of the cake by the winners along with the Judge\, Principal\, and other faculty members. Thereafter there was a DJ which got everyone on the floors to dance and helped to break the ice between freshers and seniors. \nThe show ended with a vote of thanks by Ms Sonali Prajapati. Later on\, refreshments were served on the ground floor to all the students and faculty members.

SUMMARY:Guru Purnima Celebration 2018
DESCRIPTION:Students Council of MVM Degree College celebrated Guru Purnima on 27th July\,2018 at  3rd Floor AV room from 11.30 am onwards. Event started with prayer song dedicated to all gurus by students council members. After that all students council members presented one group song with guitar and music. Student council members presented PPT and spoke about their favorite teachers and expressed their love\, affection and feelings for their teachers. On this occasion\, Principal Dr. Gopal Kalkoti also presented a PPT focusing on Guru- Shishya bonding\, and moral values behind this relationship. \nStudent’s council also organized games\, dance and many fun activities for their teachers. They also presented flowers and gifts to their teachers as a token of love and appreciation. Student’s council members put all their efforts to make this day memorable for their teachers\, they were able to achieve. It was a day full of fun\, happiness and unexpected surprises for all teachers from their students. \nAll teachers appreciated the efforts of students council members and program ended with vote of thanks by Principal and Vice Principal to all student’s council members for organizing this event.

DESCRIPTION:M V Mandali’s Colleges of Commerce & Science celebrated “International Yoga Day” on 21st June 2018 on the college campus from 9.00 am onwards. The event was convened by our Hon. Principal Dr. Gopal Kalkoti\, Ms. Khushboo (Yoga Trainee and Member of Goregaon Sports Club)\, and Mr. Shailesh Patil (Sports in charge). \nThe guest of honor for the day was Mr. Prashant Thingalaya\, Chairman of the Infrastructure Committee from management.  Participants included students\, and teaching & non-teaching staff. The Principal along with the yoga trainees demonstrated various Asanas\, explaining their benefits like flexibility\, better strength & immunity for body\, mind\, and soul. Active participation of the Principal and teachers made the event lively\, which made students & participants more interested and enthusiastic in performing the various Asanas. \nThe Yoga Day celebration concluded with felicitation and a vote of thanks given by the Vice Principal &  Coordinator\, Ms. Seema Rawat. All departed fresh & reenergized understanding that Yoga is a way of life towards mental\, physical\, and emotional well-being.

SUMMARY:Orientation of DLLE 2018-19
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension is established in M V Mandali’s Colleges of Commerce & Science in the academic year  2015- 16. To facilitate the sensitization of the students to the socio-cultural realities\, the department offers students\, extension work projects encompassing social issues. The student is awarded 10 additional marks at the final exam for a project on completion of 120 hours of work and the submission of a project report which are undertaken by degree college students. \nThe DLLE offers flexible continuing education opportunities for the students. As a well-founded academic Department of the University of Mumbai\, the Department is committed both to the highest standards of excellence\, and also provides an opportunity to interested learners. The main aim of extension education is for the development of the students academically and practically. \nDepartment of Life Long Learning and Extension (DLLE) unit of MVM Degree College has organized an orientation program for SY and TY students of BMS / BAF / BCom and BScIT on 18th July 2018 from 12 noon onwards at MVM Degree College\, 3rd Floor\, Room No. 303. The objective of the orientation program was to make students aware of the registration process\, and selection of student managers\, to inform them about all activities planned for the academic year 2018-19\, and to inform them about a tentative schedule of activities that the DLLE unit intends to undertake in the current academic year 2018-19. \nThe orientation program was conducted by Extension Work Teachers – Asst Prof. Anita Chaudhary and Asst. Prof. Darshan Pagar. The students were briefed about how beneficial it is to be a part of the DLLE unit to inculcate much-needed awareness in students. Students were very motivated to enroll in this department as they are to take up the projects which give them exposure to the world outside four walls.

DESCRIPTION:Rotary club of M V Mandali’s Colleges of Commerce & Science has organized a visit to the “Jeevan Aasha” old age house on 1st July 2018\, which is located in Amboli\, Andheri West. \nThe visit was arranged by Rtn. Varsha Baradia\, President\, RC Juhu\, and her team. Rotaractors of M V Mandali’s Colleges of Commerce & Science participated as volunteers. Many items like food\, clothes\, and other daily life requirements were distributed among members of the old age homes. \nRtn. Varsha Baradia addressed Rotaractors and explained then the importance of such kind of donations to underprivileged people. Rotaractors also took the initiative to entertain old people and bring smiles to their faces. SUMMARY:PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP BY FACULTY FORUM
DESCRIPTION:Faculty Development Forum of M V Mandali’s Colleges has organized a personality development workshop for all faculty members. The workshop titled “Recharging Self” was held on 23rd June 2018 at 1.00 p.m.\, in the 2nd Floor Hall of the College Building. The speaker of the day was Dr. TusharGuha\, a Corporate Trainer and Founder of Nritanjali Management Services. The workshop was attended by the teaching staff of Junior and Degree College. \nHe gave insights on improving efficiency and building sound equations amongst professionals through communication skills and personality development. Valuable thoughts were shared on work ethics by way of discussion and group activities. Dr. Tushar Guha was felicitated by Mr. Vikas Puthran- Chairman\, Education Committee\, MV Mandali\, who also extended the vote of thanks. It was a day to be remembered for the stress-busting techniques and positivity taking the centre stage.
